OUR VISION
Black Legacy Communities enjoy sustainable economic and community vibrancy fueled by flourishing family-based business enterprises connected to their physical landscape, cultural heritage, and archeological significance within the North Star Black Heritage Region.
The mission of the North Star Black Heritage Region is to drive recognition, celebration, and preservation of Black Legacy Communities' physical landscape, cultural heritage and archeological artifacts through entrepreneurship, education, outreach, and advocacy embodied in the physical and virtual Legacy Communities Trail System.

Objectives:

Connect BLC sites together using a full service trail offering way-finding signage, visitor kiosks, special events, and tours;

Encourage preservation and conservation of BLC and associated resources;

Provide family-based economic gardening TA leading to regional economic vibrancy;

Generate economic impact for BLCs through tourism;

Reinvigorate and cultivate BLC pride; and

Validate BLC contributions to the respective counties, state of Florida, and nation.
